Catalyst Fund Management is a venture capital firm. Formed in September 1997, the company is based on three principles: Industry sectors exist where radical change is overdue and where opportunities for investing in exciting new business models abound. In-depth knowledge of the sector is a prerequisite for adding value as a venture capitalist or corporate advisor. How they work with people to make them more effective will be a key determinant of their success. Their first fund, The European Financial Services Venture Fund, which closed in June 1999, was a test of these principles. They believe it was Europe\'s first venture capital fund focused on the dynamic financial services sector.
