First Ontario Fund was launched in 1995 as a Labour Sponsored Investment Fund (LSIF) with the objective of achieving long-term capital appreciation while stimulating job creation through its investment in small to medium sized companies in Ontario. As of the fiscal year ending September 30, 2005, First Ontario has over $40 million in total assets under management. Nine key investments make up the bulk of the value of the venture portfolio.
