Venture Capital in India – Canbank Venture Capital Fund Ltd.

In their economic environment, assistance for establishment of new ventures in the field of industry is not easily forthcoming. To assist the new ventures, their Bank had formed a Venture Capital Fund in the year 1989. The Fund is managed by Canbank Venture Capital Fund Ltd, a wholly owned Subsidiary of Canara Bank. This is the only Company of its kind sponsored by a Public Sector Bank in the country. Sri B Sudhakar Shetty, Asst General Manager of the Bank is heading the Company as Managing Director. Apart from the Managing Director, the Company’s Board of Directors consists of their Chairman & Managing Director, Executive Director and a General Manager of the Bank.
